Portrait of Place Editing

So we've been editing today. Its been ages since i last did any editing, Id forgotten how long it takes. It doesnt take that long to get the bulk of it done (we cut 30 minutes of rushes down to just over 3 minutes in only a couple of hours) but it takes soooo long to do the final touches! We must've spent at least 6 or 7 hours playing about with the rest of it.

Here's a few screenshots of our edit, incase you're interested..

On the above picture, the left-hand clip is a POV shot from our original shoot on Thurs 27th Oct, the right-hand clip is our second day of shooting (on the following wednesday), the weather on the first day was pretty wet and dark whereas the wednesday shoot was much sunnier and brighter, getting the two shots to match in colour (or at least get close to matching) took a lot of effort.

By the end of the shoot, the wind picked up and was blowing the grass and bushes about (as well as Jess' hair!) which meant when we tried to edit together the two shots above, theres a noticable little jump, we spent quite a while trying to fix it, its very much improved from how it was in the rough edit but unfortunately you notice it.

And finally:
Look who we happened to see while shooting on our second day! He even crouched down on the ground to get out of shot for us at one point..
Jarvis Cocker
Im definately feeling my age now, almost everyone I excitedly mentioned this to, however, didnt have a clue who I was talking about (!) Perhaps its not such a big thing but it made my day anyway..
