Domestic

Domestic by Suzi Ewing (2002)

Barry has been made redundant but is too cowardly to tell his wife, in order to keep himself occupied during the day he breaks into peoples homes and tidies them, this gives him a sense of purpose and strength to confront his own situation. He inadvertantly fixes a couples struggling relationship.
I like how his cowardice is highlighted simply with a falling pillow feather in the first scene.
The cheerful music plays whenever Barry has a sense of purpose, it cuts off he's filled with fear at the couple returning and starts back up again just before he gets home.
I like that theres very little dialogue needed in the film and that much of the story is told visually.
I also llove the quirkiness of it all.
